New Pear study....I haven't painted pears in awhile, but I loved the colors and shapes...like the way the two look together...as if one is talking to the other...nuzzling the other's nose...
This teacup was laying around the house and I thought it would be fun to paint... Makes me think of Alice in Wonderland...I like the idea of all of the cherries piled up in the teacup with one standing proudly beside it who decided to jump ship... SOLD
I was going through some stuff in my life when I painted this...Didn't realize the significance of painting a pink chair in an empty room until much later...Thought about doing a series with the same room as a background, but different objects and people in each scene...haven't carried it further yet...
Just finished this study...first time I've ever painted seashells...I picked these up on the beach one morning when I was taking a walk...the tide was really high(due to hurricane Sandy)...there were beautiful shells covering the beach....
When I lived in upstate NY we would often go to the Algonquin restaurant down the street. I remember this sunset..we got to the restaurant early to see the colors in the lake and sky change..after grabbing a drink we headed to Lake George Village to walk around. I thought the pinks, purples, and blues were really beautiful on this evening in particular.
Companion piece to the apple painting I posted recently. Each apple has a different shape and color which gives it its own unique personality. I like the green in the background...don't know why, but makes me think of The Wizard of Oz...scene with the flying monkeys...all of those beautiful colors...
