Here is one I finished over the holidays. I loved the way the red balls looked hanging on the tree but wasn't quite prepared for the labor of painting the branches. It took a while to solve the problem of not having to paint every single strand and yet still have the tree read as a tree. I think I got the warm Christmas feel I was looking for.
This is a painting from a series inspired by a trip I took to Italy several years ago to study art with Louise Freshman Brown. I'll probably go back and forth between my current work and older pieces.
