Copper Pot

Copper Pot

First time I've ever painted a copper pot...challenging to say the least, but I learned a lot! I like things that sparkle...I painted this because I wanted to capture some of the sparkle and glow of the pot...I also like the way the shadow of the handle looked against the background...

Pink Chair

Pink Chair
6"x9"
Acrylic on panel

I was going through some stuff in my life when I painted this...Didn't realize the significance of painting  a pink chair in an empty room until much later...Thought about doing a series with the same  room as a background, but different objects and people in each scene...haven't carried it further yet...

Lake George Sunset

Lake George Landscape
10"x24"
Acrylic on canvas

When I lived in upstate NY we would often go to the Algonquin restaurant down the street. I remember this sunset..we got to the restaurant early to see the colors in the lake and sky change..after grabbing a drink we headed to Lake George Village to walk around.  I thought the pinks, purples, and blues were really beautiful on this evening in particular.

Fairy Tale Eggplants & Mushroom

"Fairy Tale Eggplants and Mushrooms"6x6 Acrylic on panel

I was at Whole Foods looking for something to paint. I saw these little eggplants and thought they were cute. Then I noticed they are called fairy tale eggplants. What goes better with a fairy tale Eggplant  than a mushroom!? Makes me think of the Smurfs or Fantasia.

Arsenic and Apple

Arsenic and Apple
10"x10"
Acrylic on panel

This is a still life I finished not long ago, where the desire was to incorporate an object with a piece of fruit. I like the fairytale element and the colors. I've had this goblet for years and have always wanted to put it into a painting. The piece was on the easel in the photo which appeared in the recent Lake George Mirror article.

Lake George Mirror Article

This is an article that was recently published in the Lake George Mirror about an artist's residency I'm doing in upstate NY at Shelley's International. The article was written by Tony Hall who came into the gallery, along with his wife, and sat down with me, Clint, and Jeff, the owner. The paintings in the photo are of the "Boathouse Bed and Breakfast", which I had just finished and a painting titled "Apple and Arsenic".
I am currently working on a piece of the Carousel in Lake George Village. I should have an image of it up by next week!
