This is the second painting I've done of an apple cut open..Since October is apple season, it seemed like a good time to do another one. I love the way the red apple looks against a purple background..
"Fairy Tale Eggplants and Mushrooms"6x6 Acrylic on panel
I was at Whole Foods looking for something to paint. I saw these little eggplants and thought they were cute. Then I noticed they are called fairy tale eggplants. What goes better with a fairy tale Eggplant than a mushroom!? Makes me think of the Smurfs or Fantasia.
Just finished another still life study...I liked the shape of the coconut..thought it would be fun to paint...and who doesn't like pineapples and coconuts (makes me think of pina coladas)...second pineapple slice I've painted and a bit of a struggle, but I think the whole thing came together once I put in the background.
This is my first ebay auction! I'm starting my prices low because I'm new to ebay and want to see how it goes. New paintings will be posted every Sunday night. Please follow link to bid.
This is a piece based off of the interior of Fan and Stoves, an antique store in Jacksonville, FL. I played with the colors, lines, and arrangement of objects. I also added the little house painting on the blue brick wall by Mary Blair. I love her work.
This is a still life I finished not long ago, where the desire was to incorporate an object with a piece of fruit. I like the fairytale element and the colors. I've had this goblet for years and have always wanted to put it into a painting. The piece was on the easel in the photo which appeared in the recent Lake George Mirror article.
Sun Umbrellas at The Algonquin 8"x10" Acrylic on panel
Taken from the dock of the Algonquin restaurant in Bolton Landing on Lake George...The Algonquin is a fun restaurant because you can pull the boat up to the dock and have dinner outside under these umbrellas.... while getting a great view of the lake. The painting has a beautiful Larson Juhl frame on it and is currently available through Shelley's International Gallery Of Fine Art.
